What is LifeWays North
America?
LifeWays North
America is devoted to developing healthy childcare, parent-infant and
parent-child programs, and training programs for caregivers, parents and parent educators. These activities are
inspired by the works of Rudolf Steiner and the experience of Waldorf education and are supported by contemporary early childhood research as well as the common sense and wisdom of many
generations of parents.
According to Dr. T. Berry Brazelton and Dr. Stanley I. Greenspan,
a child's needs to grow, learn and flourish are:
-
The Need for Ongoing Nurturing
Relationships
-
The Need for Physical Protection,
Safety, and Regulation
-
The Need for Experiences Tailored to
Individual Differences
-
The Need for Developmentally
Appropriate Experiences
-
The Need for Limit Setting,
Structure, and Expectations
-
The Need for Stable, Supportive
Communities and Cultural
-
Continuity
-
Protecting the
Future
LifeWays Child Care and Training is committed to meeting these
fundamental needs of our young children.

What is LifeWays Northeast?
LifeWays Northeast is the eastern
training center of LifeWays North America. This training is
especially offered for those who care for children in homes and centers, preschool teachers in home programs,
assistant early childhood teachers, afternoon preschool teachers, and parent-child and parent-infant
educators. We have a growing number of parents attending along with early childhood professionals.
What will I learn?
Learn how the simple activities of healthy home life provide the foundation of
learning for the young child. Refresh your skills with music, movement and handwork classes. Learn more
about the holistic view of the developing human being offered by Rudolf Steiner and other developmental theorists
and experience fun and friendship found with fellow students. Visit our best practices, curriculum and LifeWays certificate checklist
for more detailed information.
Who is the
faculty?
The faculty of Lifeways Northeast is
made up of practitioners. The instruction comes from experienced early childhood educators including
kindergarten teachers, puppeteers, and performers. While the education is grounded in theory, we teach real
world skills. Please see our faculty page for detailed backgrounds of our
